"The annual Infineon-HWA Wheel, Walk or Jog (WWJ) is back with main sponsor Infineon!
This time this fund-raising event will be held at the East Coast Park Carpark Area F2 on 27th August 2006 (Sun).
Mr George Yeo, Minister for Foreign Affairs will be officiating this grand event for the first time as our Guest-of-Honour to an expected turnout of at least 1,500 particpants who will include people with physical disabilities too.
Look forward to a carnival-like atmosphere with great fun and prizes to be won in the lucky draw. So join us and wheel, walk or jog for a fun-filled day by the sea.
Hi Rui Hao,
Many thanks for your enthusiasm.
Am very encouraged by your initiative in volunteering at WWJ. But what I
need most for now are participants... what is a walkathon without people
walking??? By knowing you guys personally, I hope to ask of more than just
an ordinary walker an the event.
At WWJ, we can usually expect some 200 - 300 members turning up alone or
with their caregivers. It is our biggest success if all our members get to
enjoy a morning of fun. Hence, it'd be a real gift if you guys can 'partner'
the members as you walk (members walk or wheel) along with them, befriending
and cheering them on, and encouraging them to engage in the games and
activities we've prepared for everyone.
Fundamentally a fundraising event, each student pays $5 to register, in
return, participants each receives a goodie bag + a chance to win great
prizes at the lucky draw. Alternatively, you may wish to rally your team
together and help us raise $$$ with pledge cards and enjoy waiver of
registration fee with minimum $10 raised.
Will you be able to help me in this area?
Stephanie"
So these are the details. Please reply as to what you think about it and tag on the board. Any other info please ask Rui Hao who will be in charge of this whole thing for us.
